U19 Asia Cup 2025 Final: Pakistan Crush India by 191 Runs to Clinch Second Title in Dubai

Mumbai: Pakistan delivered a ruthless performance to overpower arch-rivals India by a massive 191 runs in the U19 Asia Cup 2025 final at the ICC Academy Ground in Dubai, scripting one of the most one-sided finals in the tournament’s history. Chasing a record-extending eighth title, India were completely outplayed as Pakistan lifted their second U19 Asia Cup crown, 13 years after their maiden triumph in 2012.

The emphatic victory stands as the second-biggest win margin in U19 Asia Cup final history, behind Bangladesh’s 195-run win over the UAE in 2023, underlining Pakistan’s dominance on the big stage.

Sarfaraz Ahmed Extends His India-Final Dominance

At the heart of Pakistan’s success was head coach Sarfaraz Ahmed, who once again got the better of India in a final. Sarfaraz captained Pakistan to U19 World Cup glory against India in 2006, oversaw a crushing Champions Trophy final win in 2017, and now added another chapter by guiding the U19 side to continental glory from the dugout.

Sameer Minhas’ Masterclass Powers Pakistan to 347

Pakistan’s innings was anchored by a breathtaking knock from Sameer Minhas, who produced one of the greatest innings ever seen in a U19 Asia Cup final. After an early setback with the loss of Hamza Zahoor, Minhas took control alongside Usman Khan, adding a rapid 92-run stand for the second wicket.

Pakistan raced through the Powerplay with 79 runs, as Minhas brought up his half-century off just 29 balls. Even after Usman Khan departed for 56, the momentum never dipped. Minhas combined with Ahmed Hussain for a dominant 137-run partnership, putting India firmly on the back foot.

Minhas reached his century in style and showed no signs of slowing down, eventually hammering a sensational 172 off 113 balls, laced with 17 fours and nine sixes. His innings ended in the 43rd over with Pakistan cruising at 302/4. Despite losing wickets late, Pakistan posted a formidable 347/8, a total that proved far beyond India’s reach.

For India, Deepsah Devendran led the bowling effort with three wickets despite conceding 83 runs, while Henil Patel and Khilan Patel picked up two wickets each.

India’s Chase Collapses Under Pressure

India began the chase brightly, with Vaibhav Suryavanshi smashing 21 runs off the opening over against Ali Raza. However, the early promise faded quickly. Suryavanshi fell for a rapid 26 off 10 balls, and the loss triggered a dramatic collapse.

From 32 without loss, India slumped to 94/7, losing wickets in quick succession and never recovering. Brief cameos from Aaron George (14) and Khilan Patel (19) offered little resistance as Pakistan’s bowlers tightened the noose.

Ali Raza, after conceding heavily in his first over, staged a remarkable comeback to finish with outstanding figures of 4/42. He was well supported by Mohammad Sayyam, Abdul Subhan and Huzaifa Ahsan, who claimed two wickets each to dismantle India’s batting line-up.

Deepsah Devendran provided a fleeting spark with a quick 36 off 16 balls, but Raza returned to remove him and seal the contest as India were bowled out for 156 in just 26.2 overs.

Pakistan Crowned U19 Asia Cup Champions 2025

The victory marks Pakistan’s return to the top of Asian U19 cricket after more than a decade, while India endured a painful night in Dubai. With a dominant batting display and a relentless bowling effort, Pakistan underlined their rising youth talent and stamped their authority on the continental stage.

For India, the crushing defeat will prompt serious introspection, while Pakistan celebrate a historic triumph that will be remembered as one of the most commanding finals in U19 Asia Cup history.
