PM Modi Confident of BJP-NDA Victory in Kerala, Calls It the ‘Biggest Transformation

Mumbai: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday exuded confidence that the BJP-NDA will form the next government in Kerala, citing widespread support across the state, particularly from women.

Addressing a rally to boost the party’s prospects in the upcoming assembly elections, PM Modi said the state is poised for its “biggest transformation yet.”

“I have been here before, but this time the winds of change are blowing in a different direction. Voting will be held on April 9, and on May 4, the end of decades of misgovernance will be declared. The countdown to the exit of the LDF government has begun. For the first time, a BJP-NDA government is coming to power in Kerala,” he said.

Highlighting the enthusiastic turnout of supporters, Modi noted, “Upon my arrival, I witnessed massive crowds lining the entire route to this venue. The Left speaks of human chains, but the people of Kerala have shown their love for the NDA by forming a human wall.”

He also praised the party workers’ efforts during the Mera Booth Sabse Mazboot campaign, saying over 1,25,000 karyakartas from 5,000 Shakti Kendras participated and shared insights, sending a clear message that Kerala is ready to reject the LDF government.

Modi singled out Anoop Antony, the NDA candidate from the constituency, lauding his tireless dedication over the past five years. “Keralam needs the service and energy of this young leader. Today, I entrust Anup to you, to serve the people of Kerala,” he said.

The Prime Minister also highlighted the central government’s developmental support for Kerala, criticizing decades of neglect by LDF and UDF regimes. “Connecting roads are dilapidated, no new bridges have been built for years, and the medical college is in poor condition. Your quality of life has suffered immensely,” he said.

He added that under his government, five times more funds have been allocated to the state compared to periods when LDF or UDF ruled at the Centre.

Kerala will go to the polls on April 9, with results declared on May 4, alongside elections in Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Assam, and Puducherry.
