Pehla Chakravyuh CHALAVA: DK FILMS Re-Releases Supernatural Hit in Regional Languages via Stage App

India’s indie supernatural phenomenon Pehla Chakravyuh Chalava is back, and this time, it’s speaking the language of the heartland. On May 16, DK FILMS’ most streamed original thriller officially re-releases on Stage App in Haryanvi and Rajasthani, marking a regional revolution in Indian web entertainment.

Created by Dushyant Kapoor, the mastermind behind India’s first connected superhero universe, Pehla Chakravyuh Chalava debuted in June 2022 on YouTube. What followed was nothing short of a digital miracle. Within weeks, the show exploded across social media and eventually landed on Disney Plus Hotstar, where it trended at number 3 nationwide, just behind Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra starring Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Amitabh Bachchan, and the mythological animated epic Legends of Hanuman.

A Phenomenon Born from a Vision

Pehla Chakravyuh Chalava is more than a show. It is a vision realized by an independent filmmaker whose ambition refused to be constrained by budget or studio limitations. Dushyant Kapoor, who also helms the superhero show Suitboy, crafted Pehla Chakravyuh Chalava as a spiritual horror thriller with deep roots in Indian folklore. Set in a remote village haunted by mysterious deaths and cryptic symbols, the show follows police officer Ashish Dutta, who stumbles into a vortex of secrets while transporting a prisoner with no known past.

Kapoor has often said that Pehla Chakravyuh Chalava “wasn’t just written to scare, but to question blind belief, superstition, and fear itself.”

The Journey Across Platforms and Borders

After a thunderous YouTube launch, Pehla Chakravyuh Chalava’s success snowballed. The show quickly caught the attention of OTT distributors, leading to its acquisition by Disney Plus Hotstar. It soon became the most talked about independent show of the season. That exposure led to further expansion, first onto Airtel Xstream, then Vyre Network, a US-based OTT platform, where it hit number 1 trending within just one day of release.

In total, Pehla Chakravyuh Chalava has amassed over 250 million streams across platforms, making it one of DK FILMS’ highest-grossing web properties and a cornerstone in India’s indie content movement.

Stage App and the Regional Expansion

With this new release, Pehla Chakravyuh Chalava enters a fresh chapter. The Stage App, which exclusively showcases regional language content from Haryana and Rajasthan, has partnered with DK FILMS to bring the series to grassroots India.

“The soul of Pehla Chakravyuh Chalava lies in our culture,” Kapoor said in a statement. “By releasing it in Haryanvi and Rajasthani, we’re bringing it home.”

This is not a dubbed afterthought. It’s a full-fledged relaunch, with a new poster, language-specific voice artists, and promotional support from both the platform and the original cast.

The Cast Reunites and the Fans Return Too

The show’s original cast, Aashay Srivastava, Sourav Goutam, Nakul Rawat, Bhawna Batra, Rakesh Singh, and Nagesh Gola, are all actively participating in the promotional campaign, sharing behind-the-scenes content, Instagram reels, and heartfelt throwbacks.

Executive producer Ankit Vatsa has been teasing fans with cryptic social posts hinting at Season 2. On his Instagram, he wrote, “छलावा पहला चक्रव्यूह 16 मई सूं STAGE ऐप माथै आ रैयो है और आगे भी बहुत कुछ बाकी है।” (“Pehla Chakravyuh Chalava is arriving on Stage App from May 16 and there’s much more ahead.”)

Fans, naturally, are going wild in the comments, demanding closure on unanswered mysteries and speculating on the next villain in the Chalava universe.

A Benchmark for Indie Filmmaking

The success of Pehla Chakravyuh Chalava is significant not only because of its reach but because of how it was made. With no traditional studio system behind it, Kapoor and his team built the series from the ground up. The series’ horror elements, mythological allusions, and rustic cinematography made it relatable and binge-worthy for a new generation of viewers hungry for fresh, homegrown content.

In the age of superhero clones and reality show fatigue, Pehla Chakravyuh Chalava stood out.

As Stage App pushes for deeper regional engagement and DK FILMS continues to build one of India’s most exciting independent IP libraries, Pehla Chakravyuh Chalava stands tall as a case study in creative grit, grassroots storytelling, and indie marketing done right. The ghost is back. The chakravyuh reopens. And India is ready to step into the circle again.
