Nashik TCS Controversy: Devendra Fadnavis Orders Probe; Employees Shift to WFH Amid Harassment Allegations

Mumbai: Amid escalating controversy surrounding allegations of harassment and forced religious conversion at Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) in Nashik, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has directed central agencies to investigate the matter.
Calling the situation “sensitive and serious,” Fadnavis assured that authorities would conduct a thorough probe and take strict action against those found guilty. “We have activated all agencies to look into the matter. The culprits will not be spared, and we will go to the root of the issue,” he said.
TCS Moves Nashik Staff to Work From Home
As scrutiny intensifies, TCS has asked employees at its Nashik office to work from home as a precautionary step to ensure their safety and convenience. The decision comes in light of ongoing investigations into allegations of sexual harassment and religious coercion at the facility.
According to police sources, at least nine cases have been registered so far in connection with the incident. One case has been filed at Deolali Camp police station, while eight others have been registered at Mumbai Naka police station, indicating the scale and seriousness of the complaints.
Company Response and Internal Action
Responding to the allegations, TCS reiterated its zero-tolerance stance on workplace misconduct, including harassment and coercion. The company confirmed that employees accused of sexual harassment have been suspended pending further investigation.
Meanwhile, N Chandrasekaran, Chairman of Tata Sons, described the allegations as “deeply concerning and distressing.” He also announced that an internal investigation would be conducted under the supervision of a senior executive.
“The complaints and allegations emerging from the Nashik branch are gravely concerning and anguishing,” Chandrasekaran said in an official statement.
Investigation Underway
Authorities continue to gather evidence and record statements as part of the ongoing probe. With both state and central agencies now involved, the case has drawn significant public attention, raising broader concerns about workplace safety and accountability in large corporate environments.
Further developments are expected as investigations progress and more details emerge.
