Mumbai: England’s memorable 2-1 One Day International (ODI) series victory over India their first bilateral home series win against the visitors since 2018 has triggered major moves in the latest International Cricket Council (ICC) Men’s Player Rankings.

Veteran England batter Joe Root has made a roaring return to the top 10 ODI batting chart, while explosive opener Ben Duckett has surged into the top 20 following a landmark century at Lord’s. Meanwhile, India’s Rohit Sharma has narrowed the points difference behind teammate Virat Kohli following a sensational ton in London.

Joe Root played the role of anchor throughout the three-match series, finishing undefeated with scores of 76*, 99*, and 74*. His immaculate consistency earned him a four-place leap to 8th position, marking his return to the ODI top 10 for the first time since 2020.

• Saif Hassan: Gained 10 spots to land at 27th following his 55-run knock in the second T20I.
