Ghayal Hoon, Isliye Ghatak Hoon”: Raghav Chadha Hits Back at AAP Allegations

Mumbai: Two days after being removed as the Aam Aadmi Party’s deputy leader in the Rajya Sabha, Raghav Chadha hit back at the party, calling the allegations against him a “scripted campaign.”
In a video posted on X, Chadha addressed three major claims levelled against him by AAP: that he was afraid to speak against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, that he failed to support a motion against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, and that he wasted parliamentary time raising trivial issues such as samosas instead of national concerns.
AAP national media chief Anurag Dhanda had said, “For the past few years, you have become afraid, Raghav. You are afraid to speak against Modi. You are afraid to raise the real issues of the country.”
Chadha strongly denied all the claims. On the charge of not backing Opposition walkouts, he challenged the party to cite a single instance, noting, “This is a white lie. There are CCTVs all around the Parliament. Anyone can check them to get their answer.”
Regarding the motion to impeach Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, Chadha clarified that at least 6–7 AAP MPs had also not signed it, asking, “There are 10 Rajya Sabha MPs from AAP. But why am I being blamed for not signing the petition?”
On accusations of raising frivolous issues, Chadha said, “I am in Rajya Sabha to raise people’s issues. I am not here to create ruckus. I am here to create an impact.” He listed interventions on multiple public concerns, including pollution in Delhi, government schools, Punjab-related issues, and problems faced by railway passengers.
मैं बोलना नहीं चाहता था, मगर चुप रहता तो बार-बार दोहराया गया झूठ भी सच लगने लगता।

Three Allegations. Zero Truth.

Chadha concluded his video dramatically with a dialogue from the Bollywood spy-thriller Dhurandhar: “Ghayal hoon, isliye ghatak hoon”, signaling that despite feeling hurt by the allegations, he remains determined and formidable.
The move to remove Chadha as deputy leader came after his perceived silence on sensitive party matters, particularly his lack of comment following the discharge of top AAP leaders, including Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia, in the excise policy CBI case. Ashok Mittal has now replaced him in the role.
