Delhi Lakshmi Yojana Registration Begins: How Women Can Apply Online for ₹2,500 Monthly Assistance

Mumbai: The Delhi government has officially launched the registration process for the Delhi Lakshmi Yojana, a welfare scheme aimed at providing monthly financial assistance of ₹2,500 to eligible women in the national capital.

Announcing the launch, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said the online registration portal is now operational, allowing women who meet the eligibility criteria to submit their applications digitally. The initiative is designed to offer direct financial support to economically weaker households and strengthen women’s financial independence.

According to the Delhi government, the first instalment under the scheme is likely to be released around Raksha Bandhan, subject to successful verification of applications and supporting documents.

Who Can Apply for Delhi Lakshmi Yojana?

Women seeking benefits under the scheme must fulfill several conditions laid down by the government.

Applicants must be between 21 and 60 years of age and should have been residents of Delhi for at least 10 years. The annual family income should not exceed ₹2.5 lakh. Only one woman from a family can avail of the benefit.

The scheme excludes income-tax payers and families with a criminal record. Women having more than three children are also not eligible to apply.

Documents Needed for Registration

To complete the application process smoothly, applicants should keep essential documents ready before visiting the portal.

These include an Aadhaar card, proof of residence, income certificate, bank account details, Aadhaar-linked mobile number and any other documents specified during registration. Applicants may also be required to upload a recent passport-size photograph.

How to Apply Online

Eligible women can submit their applications through the dedicated Delhi Lakshmi Yojana portal.

The process begins with registration using an Aadhaar-linked mobile number. After logging in, applicants must complete the eligibility verification process and provide personal, family and bank account details for Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).

Applicants are required to upload all necessary documents in the prescribed format and review the information carefully before final submission. Once the form is submitted, an acknowledgement receipt can be downloaded and used to track the application status online.

Verification Process Before Payment

After receiving applications, the Delhi government will conduct a verification process to confirm eligibility and validate submitted documents.

Women who successfully clear the verification stage will receive ₹2,500 every month directly in their registered bank accounts through the DBT system. Officials have indicated that the first payment is expected to be credited after the scrutiny process is completed.
