CM Yogi Warns Miscreants After Bareilly Violence, Vows Stern Action Against Anarchy

Mumbai: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday issued a strong warning to those involved in the recent violence in Bareilly, declaring that miscreants would face strict police action.

Addressing a public meeting in Balrampur, the Chief Minister referred to the police lathi-charge during the Bareilly clashes and said that similar measures would be taken against anyone attempting to disturb law and order in the state.

“A few individuals should not be allowed to spoil the environment. These are the same people who once pushed Uttar Pradesh into an identity crisis under corrupt governments, where there was no investment or development. They are now adopting new tactics. But they must remember that we are more prepared than they think. They will be beaten just as they were in Bareilly,” CM Yogi asserted.

The Chief Minister also condemned the circulation of “I Love Muhammad” posters, calling it a misguided attempt to mislead children. “These fools don’t even know that symbols of faith are honoured, not loved. Faith is a matter of conscience, not something to be displayed at crossroads. Some people are creating chaos in society by giving small children such posters. Their own lives are ruined, but they are bent on ruining the lives of these children as well,” he said.

Issuing a stern warning, CM Yogi declared that his government would not tolerate anarchy. “Anyone who attempts to take the law into their own hands, be informed in advance that we will issue them a ticket to hell without asking. This anarchy is unacceptable,” he said.

The remarks follow violent clashes in Bareilly earlier this week, after protests outside the Ala Hazrat Dargah and the residence of Ittehad-e-Millat Council chief Maulana Tauqeer Raza Khan spiraled into confrontations with the police.

Earlier, Bareilly Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Ajay Kumar Sahni confirmed that Maulana Tauqeer Raza, identified as the alleged main conspirator behind the unrest, had been arrested and sent to judicial custody.
