Akhilesh Yadav Launches ‘Vision India’ Movement Against Paper Leaks, Targets Centre Over Education Crisis
New Delhi: Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav on Saturday announced the launch of a nationwide movement, ‘Vision India’, aimed at supporting students and fighting against repeated paper leaks and what he described as the collapse of the country’s education and examination system.
Making the announcement through an official statement on his X handle, Yadav said the initiative seeks to build a “positive, realistic, and progressive future” for the country by transforming India into a “Neo India” focused on inclusive development without discrimination.
“Today, India has become a country where people have to face difficulties and struggles at every step. To solve these problems, we have thought of a path ‘Vision India’ which will lead us towards a positive, realistic, and progressive future,” the statement said.
According to Yadav, the movement will adopt a positive, practical, progressive and creative approach to address key national issues while ensuring equal opportunities for all citizens.
Launching a sharp attack on the BJP-led government, the former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister alleged that the country’s education system had been crippled by corruption, leaving millions of students uncertain about their future.
He claimed that repeated paper leaks, cancelled examinations, delays in filling government vacancies, and alleged manipulation of evaluation and reservation policies had severely affected the youth, resulting in rising unemployment.
“In the current government, the education and examination system has collapsed due to extreme corruption. Paper leaks, cancelled exams, failure to fill vacant posts, and manipulation of evaluation-reservation policies have pushed the future of the youth into darkness and have increased unemployment tremendously,” Yadav said.
He further alleged that teachers were being burdened with non-academic responsibilities while primary schools were being shut down. He also claimed that a “negative ideology” was rapidly influencing education up to the postgraduate level, arguing that cosmetic reforms would no longer be sufficient to fix the system.
Calling for sweeping changes, Yadav said the country now requires a radical overhaul of its education framework rather than superficial reforms.
As part of the campaign, the first conference under the ‘Vision India’ movement will be held in Prayagraj on June 29. The inaugural event will focus on the theme, “Education-Examination: Why the System Has Collapsed,” and is expected to bring together students, education experts, and stakeholders to deliberate on reforms aimed at restoring transparency and credibility in India’s examination system.
The announcement comes amid continuing political debates over examination irregularities, recruitment delays and concerns about employment opportunities for the country’s youth, with opposition parties increasingly making education and jobs central issues ahead of future elections.
