Akansha Ranjan Kapoor Opens Up on Egg Freezing Struggles: ‘I Was in So Much Pain I Couldn’t Even Walk’

Mumbai: Akansha Ranjan Kapoor has candidly shared her experience with egg freezing, revealing the intense physical discomfort she endured during the process. Speaking on Soha Ali Khan’s podcast All About Her, the actress offered a deeply personal account of her journey.
In the latest episode, Soha initiated a conversation around reproductive choices, medical advancements, and the realities of egg freezing. Asking Akansha to elaborate on her earlier remarks about the toll it took on her, Soha said, “When you refer to the fact that it took a lot out of you… what does that mean?”
Responding honestly, Akansha revealed that the process left her physically drained and in significant discomfort. “Physically, I was in a lot of pain… I couldn’t stand straight because it felt like there was a big balloon inside me,” she said, adding that even short walks became difficult.
The actress shared that she had to rely on her sister to help administer injections during the cycle. “For two or three days, I couldn’t even walk as I was in so much pain. I couldn’t stand it,” she admitted.
Akansha also highlighted how unexpected the experience was. While she had been advised that light walking would be possible, she found even that challenging. “After the first day, there’s no way I can even walk. I did not expect to feel so physically blah,” she said.
Describing the sensation, she clarified that it wasn’t like typical pain but a constant discomfort marked by bloating and heaviness. “It’s not a period cramp. It’s just this feeling like there’s a big balloon in my stomach that could burst any minute… and also the hormones,” she explained.
Her candid revelation sheds light on the often under-discussed physical side of egg freezing, offering insight into the emotional and bodily challenges that can accompany the procedure.
