“The safety and security of our passengers, crew and aircraft remain our highest priority,” the airline said, adding that it is closely monitoring developments and coordinating with relevant authorities.

The Tata Group-owned carrier confirmed that affected passengers are being informed and offered assistance, including rebooking options and full refunds. Travellers have been advised to check flight status updates on the airline’s official website or contact its 24×7 call centre.

IndiGo Announces Suspension Till March 1

Similarly, IndiGo announced the suspension of its flight operations to and from the Middle East and select international sectors until March 1, 2026.

Describing the move as a proactive safety measure, IndiGo said it is offering full flexibility and waivers for travel to and from the Middle East and select international sectors until March 7, 2026, for bookings made on or before February 28, 2026. Passengers can opt for a full refund or reschedule their journey at no additional cost.

Airspace Disruptions After Military Escalation

The widespread cancellations follow a sharp escalation in West Asia after joint military strikes involving Israel and the United States targeting Iranian sites, triggering retaliatory threats and the closure of airspace in Iran, Israel, and Iraq.

The developments have significantly disrupted major international air corridors used by airlines operating between India and Gulf nations some of the busiest long-haul routes for Indian carriers.

Airlines across the country have been forced to reroute or cancel services, while several airports have set up help desks to assist stranded passengers.

Both Air India and IndiGo said they remain in close coordination with aviation authorities and are monitoring the situation round-the-clock. Flight services will resume once safe corridors become available.

For now, passengers are being urged to stay updated through official airline communication channels as the geopolitical situation continues to evolve.
